I would like to thank the committee for inviting me to step in to judge. There was a good quality entry although numbers present slightly down, possibly due to the fuel crisis at the time and the change of judge. There was only 1 suspect mouth in the entry.
Minor Puppy Dog (3,2abs) 1 st – HAINES Leighsham Tullamore This puppy stood alone in the class but you cannot deny him his qualities. Lovely gentle masculine head leading to a good reach of neck to well laid shoulders. Straight front with good bone. Good angulation front and rear. Moved well for one so young holding his topline.
Puppy Dog (7,2abs) 1 st – BAWDEN Balsamina Beachcomber at Darthill This puppy caught my eye straight away in the ring with his presence and clean outline. Gentle masculine head with a good reach of neck to well laid shoulders. Straight front with good bone and cat like feet. Good angulation front and rear. Moved well maintaining his topline. Best Dog, Best in Show, Best Puppy in Show 2 nd – SMYTH Kadaka Kauldrun Well balanced boy with clean outline. Masculine head, good reach of neck into well laid shoulders. Straight front going to tight feet. Good angulation front and rear. Moved well maintaining his topline. Preferred the movement of 1st . 3 rd – CLUNIE – Warrentor Bold as Brass
Junior Dog (6) 1 st - SMYTH Kadaka Kauldrun 2 nd - CLUNIE – Warrentor Bold as Brass Rich golden compact boy who gave his handler a hard time. Stronger masculine head but not course in any way. Well off for bone in his straight front leading to tight cat like feet. Level topline and good angulation front and rear. Once settled on the move this boy drives forward. 3 rd – ELLIS – Warrentor Strike a Light for Fitzford
Special Yearling Dog (2) 1 st – JOHNSON Palton Party on Dude at Niallgold Mid gold boy with a large frame to fill. Masculine head not overdone in any way. Good reach of neck into well laid shoulders. Straight front, level topline. Good angulation front and rear. Once settled moved well, but a change of handler did not help him. 2 nd – EDMUNDS Sunnyoak Silver Sand Well balance cream boy with clean outline. Good reach of neck into well laid shoulders. Good angulation front and rear with level topline. Turned front feet let this boy down and cost him the class. However, moved well maintaining his topline.
Novice Dog (6,1abs) 1 st - BAWDEN Balsamina Beachcomber at Darthill 2 nd - SMYTH Kadaka Kauldrun 3 rd - Warrentor Strike a Light for Fitzford Graduate Dog (6,3abs) 1 st - JOHNSON Palton Party on Dude at Niallgold 2 nd – PROWSE Shearstone Fifty Fifty at Contoul Pale golden dog with soft masculine head. Good reach of neck into well laid shoulders. Straight front, good angulation front and rear. Moved well holding topline.
Post Graduate Dog (3,2abs) 1 st – EDMUNDS Sunnyoak Gold Hill Mid gold boy with a larger frame but cannot deny his qualities. Kind, gentle head leading to a good reach of neck to well laid shoulders. Straight front going to tight feet. Good angulation in front but a tad straight behind. However, this did not stop his good free movement whilst maintaining his topline. Limit Dog (2) 1 st – BISSELL Warrentor Tribute for Bisskids Old fashioned type with wavy golden coat, very attentive to handler. Masculine dog with good pigment. Straight front leading to tight feet. Good angulation front and rear. Moves with drive holding his topline. 2 nd – TAYLOR Alibren Eccles at Tannadice A different type to the 1st. He has done well under me in the past and his qualities still apply. Mascaline but soft head, good angulation front and rear, level topline held on the move. Just carried his tail a little high on the move on this occasion.
Open Dog (6,5abs) BROWN Cailloch makar via Ipcress Well balanced cream boy good reach of neck, straight front with good bone into tight cat like feet. Well laid shoulders and good angulation in front and rear with well let down hocks. Overall produced a balanced picture.
Veteran Dog or Bitch (6,4abs) 1 st – ELLIS Bramblebriar Cloudberry at Goldleigh 11 year old cream bitch enjoying her day out. Well balanced girl underneath a heavy coat. Good reach of neck leading to well laid shoulders. Straight front, good angulation front and rear. Level topline held on her driving movement. 2 nd – BISSELL Warrentor Wesley for Bissirids Another 11year old enjoying his day out. Rich golden boy of a different type to 1st although you cannot deny him his qualities. Gentle masculine head with good pigment. Good reach of neck leading to well laid shoulders. Level topline held on the move with his driving movement. Tail constantly wagging.
Minor Puppy Bitch (6,4abs) 1 st – JACKSON-HAINES Leighsham Chantilly, Reserve Best Puppy in Show This puppy caught my eye as she entered the ring with her presence and balance. Very pretty head with good pigmentation. Good length of neck into well laid shoulders. Well off for bone with good angulation front and rear. Moved with drive holding her topline. 2 nd – ANSTEY Standelbec Request Slightly stronger type to 1 but still worthy of her placing. Balanced bitch with feminine head and good pigment. Clean strong neck placed on well laid shoulders. Good bone, straight in front. Good angulation front and rear. Moved well once settled but dog and handler would benefit from ring craft class to brush up.
Puppy Bitch (6,2abs) 1 st – IVES Balsamina Bellini A quality cream puppy heading a strong class. Pretty head with good pigment. Good length of neck into well laid shoulders. Straight front, well off for bone and nice tight feet. Good angulation front and rear with well let down hocks. 2 nd – CLUNIE Warrentor Second to None Another quality puppy although slightly more compact than 1st. Pretty head with good pigment. Good length of neck into well laid shoulders. Straight front, well off for bone and nice tight feet. Good angulation front and rear with well let down hocks. If anything, carrying a little too much weight for my liking. 3 rd – PRICE Palton Quintessential
Junior Bitch (3) 1 ST – WOODEN Catenae Candy Floss at Salako Mature bitch with clean outline. Flowing reach of neck into well laid shoulders. Straight front, would like feet a little neater. Well off for bone, good angulation front and rear. Moved well holding her topline. 2 nd – HEWITSON Seruilia Shining Star Scopier girl than 1st and will take time to fill her frame. Feminine head with dark pigment. Straight front but would like feet a little neater. Good reach of neck into well laid shoulders. Good angulation front and rear. Level topline held on the move. 3 rd – ANDREWS & RICHARDSON Quakerhall Coral by Pandora at Catcombe Special
Yearling Bitch (5) 1 st – MAY Cherrygold Storyteller This bitch stood out for me in a strong class with her overall balance. Feminine head with good pigment. Strong clean neck set well on well laid shoulders. Straightest of fronts with good bone and tight feet. Good angulation front and rear. Moved with drive holding her strong topline. Reserve Best in Show, Best Opposite Sex 2 nd - ANDREWS & RICHARDSON Quakerhall Coral by Pandora at Catcombe A quality bitch with a feminine head and good pigment. Good reach of neck into well laid shoulders. Straight front with good bone and tight feet. Good angulation front and rear. Moved well holding her topline. 3 rd – CALLOW Kidston Shooting Star Over Cassatess

Reserve best bitch and best veteran in show. 2 nd – IVES Trewater Busy Lizzie at Balsamina Another quality feminine bitch. Good reach of neck into well laid shoulders. Good angulation front and rear. Straight front with good bone and tight feet. Moved well holding her topline. 3 rd – CLARKE Sunnyoak Cherry Blossom
